Pre-School Visit World Book Day
Class 3 were invited to share a favourite book with the children at Instow Pre-School. We had a fantastic time and especially enjoyed the 'Giraffe Dance!'
Class 3 and Year 4 Children visited Okehamptom Youth Hostel for their Residential. We tried Canoeing, Weasling, Rock Climbing and enjoyed improving out 'Bushcraft' skills. The weather was not very kind to us so we are calling it 'The Extreme Okehampton Residential.'
Here we are learning to be like gymnasts with a good posture, body tension and control. It was a fun lesson!
During the Autumn term, Class 3 visited Bulworthy Woods every week for a morning. We enjoyed playing games, building dens and shelters, we used the Kelly kettle to heat up water for juice and hot chocolate. We made a fire to toast strawberries and Marshmallows. Yum!
Class 3 have been very busy already this half term. They have moved into their new classroom, made some bunting to go to Burton Art Gallery for the world record attempt, looked at shadows in Science and emotions during Literacy.
As part of Class 3's Design and Technology project this term, pupils have been designing and making their own sandwiches. Pupils also enjoyed evaluating their finished sandwiches!
In November Class 3 visited Appledore Victorian school in costume. We dressed up as Victorian schoolchildren and we had to learn our 12 x tables! We used quills and inks to do copperplate writing and then did drill in the yard. Being a Victorian child must have been really difficult. We were not allowed to speak. Three children had to go to the Naughty Chair and be caned. OUCH!
