At Instow School all children are placed into a house group. The names of these were decided two years ago and we decided to go for birds that we see in the area. We have Egrets, Whimbrel, Greenshank, Dunlin, and Curlew. We meet twice a week in our houses, one time to discuss different issues and the second time to read or be read to.

House points are given throughout the school day for good behaviour, manners, good playtimes and good learning. House points are counted up at the end of the week and the winning house gets awarded the trophy in assembly. When individuals get a certain amount of house points they receive a bronze, silver or gold badge to show their achievement. Each year in our houses we get to vote for two Year Six pupils to be our House Captain and Vice Captains.
