Welcome to Instow Community Primary

and Pre-School

On behalf of the Governors, the staff and the children, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to new and returning visitors to our school website. I have only been the Headteacher at Instow since September, but I am very proud of our school community and all our school has to offer.

Instow Community Primary and Pre-School is a small, friendly and aspirational school. We are a little gem tucked away in the beautiful countryside of North Devon overlooking the popular village of Instow and the estuary where the rivers Taw and Torridge meet. We are lucky enough to have a governor-run pre-school onsite, so we cater for children aged 3-11 years serving the village of Instow as well as the surrounding areas.

We value our experienced and dedicated staff who put children at the heart of all they do. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing yet challenging environment for the children in our care, supporting them on their journey to be the best that they can be. With the development and refinement of our curriculum, we aim to provide our children with an education which broadens their horizons and drives their ambitions.

Surrounded by nature, we encourage our children to appreciate and make the most of where they live. We have a well-resourced school playground and a Forest school site. Wherever possible, we take advantage of our proximity to the beach and the local area and all it has to offer.

Our children are given opportunities to flourish and grow into exceptional human beings who are ready to take on the challenges of the next stage of their journey.

We firmly believe that Instow is a school to be proud of and we are more than happy to show people round if they wish to come and see us first hand.
